Cross M Ranch Location

The Cross M Ranch is located at 3,300 feet of elevation in the heart of the "Big Open" in Eastern Montana. We are approximately 225 miles NE of Billings, Montana or 75 miles NW of Miles City, Montana.

The ranch is surrounded by rolling range and tall buttes rising hundreds of feet above the ranch headquarters. Dotted with sagebrush and prickly pear cactus, the land is the true epitome of the open plains. Herds of antelope roam the range and you can truly look for miles without seeing any signs of human habitation. At night you can see the evening sky lit up by a blanket of stars and hear the sounds of the nighthawks calling to each other as they hunt. If you want to experience the true quiet sounds of nature and go to a place where the rest of the world seems like it's 150 years away, then this is the place to be. Airports

The closest airport is in Miles City, 75 miles to the SE (55 miles as the crow flies). If you fly into Miles City, figure a 90 minute drive from Miles City to the ranch. If you fly into Billings and drive to the ranch, it will take about 3 1/2 hours. If you choose to fly from Billings to Miles City, the flight is 45 minutes. We are remote and that's just the way we like it! You'll travel over miles of gravel roads before finally reaching the ranch, leaving paved roads and the hustle of modern-day life far behind you!

Directions

From Miles City: Take State Highway 59 North toward Jordan, MT out of Miles City to mile marker #59 (one mile before Cohagen, MT), turn West off of the highway (to your left) just after crossing the bridge over Little Dry Creek. You are now on Little Dry Road. You will now travel down Little Dry Road for 12 miles (or 8 cattle guards, if you want to count them!). You will top a hill and come into view of the ranch headquarters off to the left. Click Here for a map

From Billings: From Logan International Airport take Interstate 90 East for Approximately 10 miles to Junction 94 East to Miles City and exit at mile marker #135, drive into Miles City and follow the signs for Highway 59 North to Jordan. You can then follow the above directions to the ranch.

From Points East or West: Whether you are approaching Miles City on Interstate 94 from the East or the West, it is best to exit the Interstate on Exit #135, drive into Miles City and follow the signs for Highway 59 North to Jordan. You can then follow the above directions to the ranch.
